LOTTE Chemical will begin activities for improving the welfare of firefighters and their families and for preventing fires for the vulnerable class together with the National Fire Agency. 


LOTTE Chemical and the National Fire Agency signed the ‘MOU for improving firefighter welfare and to prevent fires for the vulnerable class’ at LOTTE World Tower on the 25th with the attendance of Vice-chairman Kim Gyo-hyun, Fire Commissioner Lee Heung-gyo, and Korea Society of Retired Fire Officers Executive Advisor Kim Cheol-jong.


With this MOU, LOTTE Chemical pledged to support 500 million KRW for the next three years such as the ‘Firefighter Psychological Consulting’ where psychologists visit fire stations for the mental health and treatment of firefighters repeatedly exposed to many difficult situations, and the ‘Silver Generation Safety Guardian’ activity in which retired firefighters provide safety education for the elderly, and support fire safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and detectors, etc. 


In addition to various support for these activities, the National Fire Agency will also carry out fire safety education programs for LOTTE Chemical, and the Korea Society of Retired Fire Officers will provide necessary assistance such as fire safety equipment purchases, etc. 


LOTTE Chemical has been involved in various activities to improve the welfare of firefighters who dedicate their lives for protecting the lives of citizens since 2018 by supporting firefighter health care devices, holding concerts for firefighters and their families, and goods for improving work environments. 


CEO and Vice-chairman Kim Gyo-hyun stated, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to firefighters who dedicate their lives to protect the lives and safety of citizens,” and added “We will continue support to help improve the welfare of firefighters.”


Fire Commissioner Lee Heung-gyo commented, “I would like to thank the support for not only vulnerable classes to fires, but also for engaging in corporate social responsibility activities to improve the welfare of firefighter,” while adding, “The National Fire Agency will also work harder to protect the safety of citizens.”
