LOTTE Chemical recognized as a “Rural ESG Practice Company”…
Bestowed an award from the Chairperson of the Commission for Shared Growth.

LOTTE Chemical announced on the 23rd that it received the “Rural ESG Practice Recognition Plaque” and an award from the Chairperson of the Commission for Shared Growth at the “Rural ESG Awards Ceremony,” jointly hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the Korea Foundation for Cooperation between Large & Small Business, Rural Affairs and Agriculture, held on the 22nd.
The “Rural ESG Practice Recognition Program” is a certification system that recognizes companies, institutions, and organizations that have implemented win-win cooperation and ESG activities to promote the sustainable development of agriculture, fisheries, and rural communities.
Since 2022, LOTTE Chemical has continuously contributed to the Fund for Cooperation with Rural Communities on an annual basis and has been recognized for its contributions to rural coexistence and sustainable development through efforts such as reducing air pollutant emissions and donating agricultural products from communities near its business sites.
The Daesan Plant of LOTTE Chemical received a commendation from the Director of the Geum River Basin Environmental Office for its efforts to reduce air pollutant emissions, while the Yeosu Plant signed a memorandum of understanding with Jeollanam-do Province and Yeosu City to reduce the use of disposable products and carried out ESG campaigns for resource circulation, actively promoting environmental conservation activities.
In addition, the company has been making annual donation of agricultural products purchased from nearby farms to underprivileged groups and has actively contributed to addressing social issues in rural communities through various social contribution activities, including psychological counseling for migrant women and support for daily necessities for veterans and patriotic families.
Furthermore, LOTTE Chemical has established teams at each site to dedicate to implementing tailored support strategies for nearby rural communities and has transparently disclosed its activities through its website and ESG reports, thereby enhancing the credibility of its ESG management.
LOTTE Chemical stated, “In 2026, we will continue to carry out diverse initiatives in cooperation with rural communities near our business sites, based on our ESG management principles encompassing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).”
