LOTTE Chemical announced on the 20th that it participated in the opening ceremony of the 7th “Our Neighborhood ESG Center” in Busanjin-gu on the 19th.
The Busanjin-gu ESG Center, which opened this time, is part of LOTTE Chemical’s resource circulation campaign “Project LOOP.” Following the establishment of the first ESG Center in Geumjeong-gu in 2022, it is the seventh center to open, after those in Dong-gu, Haeundae-gu, Yeongdo-gu, Jung-gu, and Gangseo-gu.
At this center, a total of 200 senior jobs will be created and operated, including 170 members of the Plastic Resource Circulation Group responsible for collecting waste plastics and 30 environmental docents in charge of washing, dismantling, compressing waste plastics, and providing environmental education for children.
LOTTE Chemical will support the facilities, equipment, and training necessary for the operation of the center, while Kokkiri Factory, a resource circulation company, will provide technical consulting such as the installation and operation of recycling equipment, interior design, and environmental education.
LOTTE Chemical stated, “The Our Neighborhood ESG Center is a public-private-corporate cooperative model that simultaneously realizes social values such as carbon neutrality and the creation of senior jobs by establishing a waste plastic circulation system, and we plan to expand it across Busan.”
