LOTTE Chemical announced that it received two WINNER awards at the 2022 Red Dot Design Award.

The Red Dot Design Award began in 1955 as an award overseen by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen of Germany and it is one of the top 3 industrial design awards of the world together with IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) of the US and the iF (International Forum) Design Awards of Germany.

At the 2022 Awards, approximately 3,200 design products from about 50 countries around the world were reviewed and judged.

LOTTE Chemical received two WINNER awards for 『METAVERSE SKIN』 that realized 3D lighting effects with optical properties transparent plastic materials and 『MID (Molded Interconnected Device)』 that realized UX (User Experience) designs with plastic materials where electricity flows well in the Materials and Surfaces category of the Design Concept sector.

『METAVERSE SKIN』 was designed as lighting effects for future automobiles that can properly show changes of space in order to apply the recent hot issue of metaverse in a product with the concept of coexistence of virtual and reality, and it can be used as automobile interior door trips or garnish trims.

『MID (Molded Interconnected Device)』 aimed at emphasizing that products can become slimmer while emphasizing the smartness of being able to overcome restrictions of product forms using the material called LDS (Laser Direct Structuring), while providing a new user experience, and it can be used as internal parts of IT and mobility devices.

Advanced Materials President Lee Young-joon stated, “This award is meaningful as we challenged a distinguished solution by integrating various technologies and materials,” while adding, “LOTTE Chemical will do its best for innovating customer products ranging from function to design.”

Meanwhile, the LOTTE Chemical design tech sector that was awarded at the Red Dot Design Award is engaged in customized collaboration to raise value starting from the product planning stage through not only distinguished color materials design development, but also preemptive suggestions to clients.
