LOTTE Chemical and DL Energy will work together for carbon neutrality and spreading ESG.

LOTTE Chemical entered an ‘MOU for joint development work of renewable energy generation business’ with DL Energy to implement domestic renewable energy at its Uiwang business site in Gyeonggi-do on the 17th. This MOU signing ceremony was attended by LOTTE Chemical Advanced Materials Business CEO Lee Young Joon, DL Energy CEO Lee Jung Wook, and other key figures.

Through this MOU, the two companies will cooperate in joint business development of new domestic renewable energy businesses, come up with cooperation plans for the supply and use of electric power form renewable energy sources, and exchange information and cooperation for the promotion of the renewable energy industry.

LOTTE Chemical declared its new corporate vision ‘Every Step for Green’ as its sustainability goal in 2022 and also announced its ESG vision ‘Green Promise 2030.’ And on the 5th, it joined the RE100 (Renewable Energy 100) Initiative with plans to convert 100% of its electric power to renewable energy by 2050.

DL Energy is an IPP developer and develops/invests in power generation businesses in the global market including Korea, the Middle East, and South America, and has established itself as a global private power generation company. Last year, it also began ESG management through the active development of eco-friendly energy such as beginning construction of a hydrogen fuel cell generator in Yeosu. They plan to work together to find various opportunities by cooperating in not only renewable energy but also for general carbon neutrality in order to support the stable execution of RE100 of LOTTE Chemical.
