LOTTE Chemical Basic Materials Business CEO Hwang Jin Koo took part in the Zero Disposable Product Challenge.

The Zero Disposable Product Challenge was started in February by the Ministry of Environment to reduce the use of disposable products in everyday life and to increase use of multiple-use products by forming common grounds and encouraging voluntary participation by members of society. The challenged institute or person uploads a post of promising to reduce disposable goods on social media and then challenges the next person.

CEO Hwang Jin Koo, who took part after being challenged by HD Hyundai Oil Bank CEO Joo Young Min, said, “Disposable goods can become goods that can be used multiple times by recycling,” and added, “LOTTE Chemical will strive to build an ecosystem of circulating resources.” He then challenged KG Chemical CEO Kim Jae Ik and Kolon Industry CEO Kim Young Beom to take part in the challenge.

LOTTE Chemical proclaimed the 2030 vision and corporate slogan 『Every Step for GREEN』 last year and plans to increase the scope of eco-friendly recycled materials business to 1 million tons by 2030, while also systematically managing the impact and risks of raw materials, its sales, use and disposal, etc. on the economy, environment and society.
